The insert retainer attaches to a Thomas vortex mixer. Included in the kit are an insert for 9mm to 13mm tubes to mix 5mL culture tubes and micro-vials, an insert for 14mm to 19mm tubes to mix up to eight 15mL centrifuge tubes, an insert for 20mm to 25mm tubes to mix up to eight 50mL centrifuge tubes, and a customizable blank insert to accommodate tubes in the number and diameter required by the user. Made of foam to retain their shape, the inserts have recessed notches that align with the posts of the insert retainer. The kit also includes a vessel harness consisting of two bands for holding an Erlenmeyer flask or media bottle. The posts of the insert retainer are slotted for securing the harness.
